[Opinions] Bastian
Hi Just looking for opinions on the name Bastian. We're in the UK in case it makes any difference. Dislike Sebastian as I'm not a fan of Seb but love Bastian

I like it because of The Neverending Story.

I don't like it. Apart from feeling incomplete, Bastian sounds quite violent/harsh and I dislike Baz as a nn. I don't think it makes any difference whether you're in the UK or not. However, Sebastian is in my Top 10 (and I love the nn Seb).

I'm 100% with you. I love Bastian but hate the rest. I would tell you that if you don't like the nickname Bash, I would go for another option.

I think I like it but it does seem incomplete to me. However, I really dislike Sebastian. I also think never ending story, but it's a good reference from childhood. I cannot remember the name but watched a show on Netflix with Sebastian "Bash" and he was my favorite character so another positive association. Not sure I could use it but I wouldn't mind meeting one.

Bash sounds way cuter than it logically should.

Love it! I have similar feelings about Sebastian.

It makes me think of The Neverending Story, but of course I’m old. It’s not a bad name, though.

I think it is very interesting and handsome. I also think that Seb isn't that nice. However, people may bring up the word Bastard or call a child named Bastian Bastian the Bastard.

Not a huge fan. I prefer Sebastian. I also only really like it if it's being pronounced like bas-tee-en instead of bas-chen.

It reminds me of a little of fish, a little of protection (bass/bastion). I think it works fine as a FN...I've noticed a lot of people seem not to like S names for guys.

There used to be a poster here whose posting name was Bastien. At one point, he changed the spelling to Bastian, but then went back to Bastien.Okay, this one makes me think of the word "bastard". So me no like.

I like it better than Sebastian and it makes me think of The Never Ending Story, which is nice. I do worry it is too close to 'bastard' but that's nothing that I notice much personally. I think it's nice but I don't like it enough to use.

I just hear the word bastion. I'm in the UK too and think it would work, I just don't like the sound. I think it sounds quite cold.
