Hello :)I think in English it would just have two syllables. seh-LEEN. It's nice for someone else but I personally wouldn't use it. I think it's a nice, calm and serene name. But I prefer names with sunny meanings over names that are associated with the night, so I think I would prefer something like Sorina over Selene. But I would like to see Selene on someone else. I think it's calmer and sweeter than Selena, even though I like Selena too. I like the Italian pronunciation, it's pretty.Selene - very nice, calm and serene. Unusual and beautiful. But I prefer other names. Would like to see it on someone else.
Selena - I like Selene better. Selena seems more trendy even though it's still a nice name. Maybe because it is similar to 80s/90s names like Melissa, Samantha etc. and peaked in the 90s.
Silene - I don't like this, it looks odd to me.
Sélène - ok, it is rare in France.
Selina - this always looked misspelled to me.In France Céline was very common. But it has a different meaning and origin. It was #1 from 1978-1981.Do you like Sorina? It means 'sun' and is a bit similar in sound to Selena or Selene.
