I like Brianna but it's dropped out of the top hundred, so this baby will have a name that's already dated by the time she's a teenager. (And sound-alike Briana has dropped even further.) I have a name like that myself, and my name was still #41 the year I was born. But it had already started its downswing, so by the time I was a teenager it was a name that few were bestowing on newborn babies any longer. Brianna will be even more so. Anyway, it's not a big deal, but it's a little sucky to know when you're still that young that nobody likes your name any longer, lol.

I hate Brandon for the same reason I hate Melissa, with a gender switch. Melissa tries too hard to be oh-so-pwetty. Brandon tries too hard to be oh-so-ruggedly-masculine.

As a sibset it's somewhat pukey-matchey, with both names starting with BR, and then featuring the N sound heavily. Yeah, okay, it makes sense that someone who likes Brandon would like Brianna for that reason, even though I'm an exception to that. Still, try to branch out.

Brianna is one of my least favorite names, and Brandon is only marginally less execrable to me. I hate the nasal "bran" and "bree-an" sounds.

I had a collie named Brianna. I'll always associate it as a dog's name for that reason, but that's just me. It seems kind of nineties to me, although it may be due for a comeback because of Outlander.

Very dated, but they go well together. I prefer Briana. I never liked Brianna and Brandon is kind of a harsh trashy name to me. No offense. But they do go well together stylistically.

I have a niece named Brianna. She's 14 or 15 now. I like it, it's a solid name. I know it doesn't get a lot of love around here but whatever. Brianna is just this generation's version of Amber. Brandon is blah, prefer Brendan, but again - whatever.

I like Brianna, especially the nickname Bri. It has a nice sound.

I like Brianna, but it doesn't sound like a name for a baby now, it sounds like someone my age or a little older. I also don't like the ambiguity of Brianna / Briana (both of them get pronounced like either Ana or Anna, so I never know!) I think Brandon fits in with Brianna, and sounds like the same age group to me...

They're nice. Seem a little pedestrian just because they were popular and most of the people named them are adults. I like Brandon despite having hated a guy named it (and I dislike Brendan despite having liked a guy named it - Brendan is Brenda with an N to me). Brianna never really caught my attention, it's kind of like Hannah or Alison, just nice. Better when prn bree-AH-na, like Parthenia said. Together they seem related but still distinct, so OK as siblings.

They aren't bad names at all, but they feel very 90s to me. Brandon, especially, feels like it would get quite a few "that's my dad's name" comments.

When I was in middle and high school, I knew loads of Briannas and Brandons. Because of that, both names seem quite overused to me. Brianna has this preppy vibe to it that I can't get past, but I do like Brandon.

As for the sibset, I think the names are too matchy with both the Br- and the meanings.

Brandon is cutesy in my opinion. Nothing wrong with it but I dislike it. I much prefer simply Bran or also Brendan that I find bright and sincere.

I like Brianna! It is lively, airy, slim and cheerful. I also like the form Breana (but not Briana).

I don't care that these names are 1990s-y. They are simple and fresh to my ears.

I actually think Brianna is nice though it's NMS. Brandon has never appealed to me. I do like the similar Brendan. Not sure why I like one and dislike the other. As for Brandon and Brianna as a sibset, nope, wouldn't do it; they're too similar in sound. I'd be tongue tripping all the time.

If you asked me my least favorite names for a boy and a girl, they would be Brianna and Brandon. I really, really loathe both of them. I also think they're too close for siblings. I find this sibset strangely dated for young siblings.

I know twins named Brianna and Brandon. Both names are starting to get dated, but they do fit well together. I'm a bit bored by them.

Brianna seems peppy, average, and likely to have been a teenager in the 00s. It's newly dated but less so than Brittany (one of my friends named a baby Brittani last year).

Most masculine Br/B-r names seem like older generation names to me - Brandon, Brian, Byron - they are all very mellow 55+ guys, in my experience, but I don't hate them for young people.

They are okay, but they sound very dated to the nineties and dull together. I like Brianna is the best spelling of the name though, and it sounds better if you sat Bree-On-Ah, instead of Bree-Ann-Uh.
