I want to like it more than I do.I've been called Vanessa before (because of people mixing up V names), and it wasn't terrible, but I didn't like it much. I actually prefer the time I was called Virginie. Vanessa felt dated and kind of vanilla, like Hannah vaguely but 10 years older. Or it's like Melissa - dated, pleasant enough, but...very soft in a way I don't identify with.And at the same time, it feels a bit catty. Like, I can imagine Tiffany, Vanessa, and Nikki being spiteful to each other.

Thank you so much. You've put your finger on what has been bothering me with the name. It is like Hannah, just slightly older. And it definitely has a catty feeling.It's unfortunate because it has such a neat history.
