[Opinions] Australian Newspaper Names 2020
As I've done for the last 2 years, I've tallied up the names of about 4000 prep students from Ipswich, Australia (our school year starts in January, not September). Here are the links from the last 2 years for comparison:2018- https://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/49291282019- https://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/5021405The top 2 names from last year, Oliver and Amelia, have kept their places. Here are the most common names of the preppies who are all either 5 or turning 5 before the end of June. Last year's shout out went to parents making their child's reasonably normal name stand out from the crowd by spelling it in an unnecessary way. Now this year's shout out goes to parents who have let pop culture influence their naming decisions (and I don't even keep up with pop culture so you guys will probably spot some that I've missed if you read the full list):Akon
Arya x 3
Bambi
Beyoncé
