[Opinions] Re: Adria
in reply to a message by rem
I love Audra too.I once met a child named Adria when I took my own kids to the park. Her mother said that if Adria had been a boy she would have been an Adrian. I can't understand why Adria isn't more popular. It's very usable! It's better than Aria or Ava, IMO.- mirfak

So now I'm wondering...How would it be pronounced?Ay-dree-uhAaa in apple, Aaaa-dree-uhOr ah in father, Ahhh-dree-uh??I could see it being pronounced multiple ways, which would get tiresome.

Knowing it's a form of Adrian I would say AY-dree-uh, but if I just saw Adria on its own I might say the A like apple.

I just naturally say it like Adrian without the n: AY-dree-uh
That's how the mother I met said her daughter's name.
Adrian is different in other languages, so Adria would be as well - it's a nonissue IMO, IRL people almost always learn names by hearing before they read them.
