My great-grandmother's name was Lou Anna. I love "Loo" names and this and Louise/Louisa are my favorites. I would spell it Louanna rather than Luana so that it doesn't get confused with the popular Luna.

It's pretty. I like it spelled Louanna though.

It reminds me of the Disney child star from the 40s: Luana Patten. She was so cute as a little kid! She's the only person I've heard before with this name so I always imagine her little face from those old films I'd watch with my Nana. I like it better than Louella and about the same level as Lulabelle.

Luana caught my attention because it reminded me of the name Luebella, which I first saw in the real life murder mystery (i.e Who put Bella in the Wych Elm? case). Oh, sorry, I've gone off topic, it's just since then my brain has seemed to find many Lu- names mysterious and enigmatic.

P.S. By the way Luana is smooth, but Luebella looks awfully clumsy.
