I think Martha is lovely, even though it has a frumpy, old lady feel to it for a lot of people. I don’t know why I’ve always liked it, but I just have.

It’s my dog’s name. To be honest, I think it’s kind of ugly, but funny ugly on a dog.

I never liked it much, but The Handmaid’s Tale really ruined it for me. Now all I could think of is the awful, depressing “Martha” role(?) from the show.
Anyway, it’s extremely matronly and grandmother-like, and not in a charming, pleasant way imo.

I love it! Though I think I slightly prefer Marta. I think its got a sweet, classic vibe.

I like it. It’s in the top 100 in the UK, so doesn’t have the same old and dated vibe it seems to have in the US.

I don't like it, it's too old, harsh, (and ugly),to me. However, it does sound like a friendly and self sufficent mother.
