Would it help you to know that Annabel was originally Amabel, and the m in medieval handwriting looked like nn, and came to be pronounced as if that is what it was? So most people would guess that Annabelle means Beautiful Anna and by now they are probably correct; historically it means Lovable.

I generally prefer names with rounded off E's or A's just in general a lot of times. Not exclusively obviously but it just looks better to me.
