I never really like it most likely never will. I think the name is okay but it’s quite dated, boring, and I don’t like for it reminds me of “My n*gga”.

Well, this is entirely personal experience, but I think every single Monica I've ever met or spoken to (on the phone - customer service) has had, for lack of a better term, an attitude problem. Monica was a greater harbinger of a negative encounter than even Jasmine, which also gave me lots of negative experiences. (Ironically, the Jasmines whose names were spelled "creatively" - Jasmyn, Jazmine, etc. - tended to be much kinder than the ones who kept the flower spelling. I think I've only met one nice "Jasmine.")
Monica / Monika seems to belong to lots of demanding, even abrasive people.
I really don't know what it is about the name, or maybe the parents who choose this name. Maybe it's just my area, who knows.

I’ve always liked it. It’s a bit dated but it has a pretty sound.
