I actually like Leif. It’s charming, short, and cool. Neil is okay, but I prefer Niall by miles. Leif Garrett comes to mind.

I like Neil and I’m okay with Leif. It really does go along together well! I like to think of Neil as the older one. I pronounce Leif the same way as Leaf.

Tricky! A good way to show them that English spelling is erratic at best. I like Leif as a name and for its Viking history; Neil has never appealed to me, sounding as it does like kneel. But I haven't told my brother-in-law ...

Ach, their visual proximity makes me want to rhyme them, which would turn Leif into Leaf and Neil into Nail.

Actually, I like them...
The names look theme-y, (4 letters each).
But, if I'm not mistaken, they are pronounced differently, I mean, the «ei» sound: /lAYf/ and /nEEl/?
