I've always liked Deborah and Devorah, and been fascinated by the different pronunciations: DEB(e)ra but deVORa. And in Afrikaans it looks like Debora and sounds like deBOOera. I find Debbie such a turn-off that I wouldn't consider using Deborah as a fn, though Deb is brisk and business-like and a good choice for a nn if necessary.I know a Deborah Lyndall, which I find absolutely stunning.
