It sounds like an old lady.
Both names starting with E and containing -th is a bit much.
I like Elizabeth, but Edith is outdated and I don't like the nicknamed Edie.

Both names are ok individually, but I don’t like the repetitive initials and -th endings together in a combo.

Both names are lovely, but I dislike the repetitive sound of them together. Edie is so sweet.

That double "th" sound is hard to me to get excited about. Edith as a whole, unless maybe there's some familial or personal significance, feels far too dated to actually use in 2023 as a first name.

Nope. Both names just read as E---th on first glance so it's like using the same name twice. They're not the same length, but it still doesn't work.

I think it’s lovely. It’s not like you’re going to be saying the names together very often, and if you do, you’ll include her last name. Of the names Edith, Ethel and Ellen, only Edith is still in the list of top 1000 names. She was never overly popular, which is why she has survived.

My step-mother-in-law! Both family names, and it was her turn to get them: her own daughter was, predictably, Jean. MIL couldn't stand her names and always answered only to Bunty. Which I thought was a whole lot worse, but she didn't and that's what counted. The youngest Edith I've ever known was an early-1950s baby and didn't turn out well at all: in and out of rehab. Which is odd, because in spite of that I think of Edith as extremely respectable and polite, like a minor character in Little Women who nobody actually liked but couldn't object to!

I’m sorry, but I can’t stand this combination at all; it sounds too repetitive. I love the names Edith and Elizabeth, only separately.

As a person named Edith who is quite young I love to see my name is dated, makes feel good that I'm not stuck with a name like Lily or Zoey.

I'm not hugely into double initials but honestly I kind of like this idea? In a subtle way at least. I always think of Edith as one of the names I would use if I went back in time to 100 years ago to have children. Her sisters would be Dorothy and Helen

I have always loved the name Elizabeth, but I don't think Edith sounds good with it, as the names start with the same letter and they sort of rhyme as well. Edith is sort of outdated imo, but I like the nickname Edie; it's cute, and it reminds me of Evie, which is also a good nickname.
