My grandfather's oldest sister(one of 9) and his mother was named Belah. They were from a plantation in North Carolina. They were kind of mean so I can picture it on an old bitty, but it could work for a heroine. They were born about 100 plus years ago I guess 1900. Is that the turn of the 19th century?
