Well, first of all, I know from being on BTn that Catriona is pronounced like Katrina, but VERy few people in the US would know that. So if you want the pronunciation, better off to stick with Katrina.
Yes, for right now Katrina is very much associated with the hurricane. However, I don't think that will last very long, at least it shouldn't in areas less affected by the storm. After all, Andrew was devastating and there's no shortage of little Andrews running around. Maybe it got less poular in Florida in the couple of years following Hurricane Andrew, but it doesn't seem to have suffered any lasting unpopularity.
I would avodi Isabel Katrina, as Isabel was another very strong hurricane a couple years ago, and people might wonder if you've got a thing for storms. (Isabel wasn't anything like Katrina, but it still did some damage, even aroudn here in Delaware. I remember it.)
