Don't care for it at all, it seems very old-ladyish and prissy. And the nn Addie makes me think not only of an old lady, but a loud, bossy and domineering one at that.

As a girl's name, it's alright, I prefer Adelaide. It's kind of pretty though.

My grandfather dated a woman named Adeline and she was an Italian schoolteacher ... we didn't hit it off too well ... so I am not a fan of the name for a child. But I think it's a nice enough name, strong but unassuming like Caroline is. I dislike nickname Addie very much.- mirfak

Adeline is adorable, but only when it's pronounced AA-deh-line, not AA-deh-leen.
