[Facts] Son's Name
I found my son's name in a baby book some 27 years ago. I know it is French. It's "Trevelyan" with an accent aigu on the first "e".Someone told him it is medieval and a dead name not used any more. Like a dead language. What's the scoop?

Vivian,Trevelyan is medieval in origin, but it's Cornish (extreme SW England), not French. It derives from a placename in Cornwall, given as "Trevelien" in the "Domesday Book" (pre-1100), and originally means "homestead or settlement (Cornish "tref") of a man named Elian".- Daividh
