Boys nameAnd I know quite a few boys named this, both German and English. It's becoming quite popular here, and I have never heard the name on a girl, maybe Kaia would be better.

I'd think boy.I prefer Kaia for a girl. However, I do seem to remember a girl on a TV show called "Kaitilin" (or something like that) who was nicknamed Kai.

boyI only see this as a male name, but a lot of people in Sweden (more commonly spelled Kaj here) claim it is unisex.

Boy, but I don't like it.

Definitely boy, and I like it. I also love Kaia for a girl.

Boy, even though I don't really care for it in general. Kaia is better for a girl, though it's also not a favorite. I'd never seen Kai on a girl until the most recent "Biggest Loser". :b
ETA: I didn't realize it, but apparently it IS a legitimate feminine name in Sweden and a unisex name in Hawaii. :)

I love it on a boy. I can picture it on a girl and not loathe it, but I much prefer it for a boy

BoyIt's my brother's middle name. However Kaia nn Kai on a girl wouldn't be that bad, but only as a nn for a girl.I pronounce it KYE.

To me: Kai for a boy, Kay(e) for a girl. I usually think of Kai as a Hawaiian boy's name, although the BtN database has it listed as a German boy's name. Kay, despite Sir Kay(e) in the Arthurian Tales, feels much more feminine to me.

A boy's name. It doesn't do much for me, but I think it's fine for someone else's child.Kai would be a cute nickname for a girl, if she had a feminine name to back it up, but it strikes me as masculine, personally.Array
