It's a fine name, but not one that does much for me personally. It's not too old-fashioned at all IMO.

I prefer Eva and Eve.

I tkink it's beautiful (and handsome, it's one of the few names I like on a girl and boy, the latter thanks to Evelyn Waugh). I prefer the EEV-lyn pronunciation over the EV-a-lyn or EV-lyn.

I love it.

However, it's one of those names I can't see myself as using. It does bring to mind an older woman, but it won't for long.

It's quite pretty, very feminine. Just...not for me.

Beautiful . . .

And not at all old-fashioned, given the current trend for reviving the names of the first two decades of the 20th century. A little Evelyn would currently share her classroom with as many girls named things like Ivy, Violet, Sophia as she would girls named things like Caitlin, Hayley and Emerson.

I love Evelyn partly for itself and partly for its association with a particular movie character. It's such a soft name, and Evie is a spunky nickname.

Love it. It may be a bit old fashioned, but then I like old-fashioned so that is a plus for me. I think it is very sweet on a little girl and lovely on an older woman.
