[Facts] TAM
Tam as a Scottish name is simply the northern-British Isles pronounciation of "Tom," the nickname of Thomas. An uncle who served in the 1st Armored Division in 1942 before shipping to North Africa told his Scotch-Irish Indiana family members that Tam is a common family name in both Glasgow and Belfast, Northern Island.

I have an Italian friendNamed Fabrizio Tam. I always thought his surname was unusual and he did not know what it meant.

It's also . . .A Vietnamese girls' name. I have a friend whose generation name is Tam, meaning that both she and her sister are Tam (mn) Le, and both use Tam as their use-name, which is confusing! This isn't at all relevant, just interesting! :-D
