I don't see anything wrong with the flower names, except maybe the mom's because I wouldn't expect her to use the same theme on her kids.
The thing that struck me as odd was that they changed their last names. I think usually the kids keep their original last names. Although, they were pretty young, but especially if Lilac doesn't like Marty so much, it seems like they'd be Ingman (enless their mom made them).
Why were they kidnapped? Do they make any friends? Bird? Human? Both?
I think it is very close to Rio, so I'd be careful of that.
