Ok as a surname, but ugly as a fn... esp. on a girl.

One of my faves!

I think it's cute, but I don't think I'd ever use it. It's one of those names that I think works for other people, but not me.

I quite like Piper.

I love it, it's on my PNL.

I kind of like it. Bright and fun. Prefer it as a middle name for either gender.

I don't like it. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to evoke flute playing, but for me it evokes plumbing and smoking first, and the flute playing it does evoke is cartoonish, like the Pied Piper. It's one of those word-names like Willow or Story or Creed, that ought to be spunky and edgy, but to me it misses the mark, has too much wordiness and not enough inspiration, and comes off stiff, like there is more trying-to-be than being.

It's never been my thing, but I didn't think much about it one way or the other until I heard it on a little girl a few weeks ago. It sounded ridiculous.

To be honest I really dislike. It just sounds to weird. Sounds like the name for a bird.

I like it. I have a tendency to use it as a boys middle name even though I know its so much more popular for girls. My husband is a pilot and flies "Piper Cubs" so I love the idea of using it as a way to honor his love of flying.

I honestly don't care for it. It has a slightly goth image to me somehow. Although I did think Sarah Palin's daughter Piper was a cutie!
