Which is your favorite spelling of these names and why?

HAY-lee - Hayley
KAY-lee - maybe Kaley if I had to pick one
CAR-lee - Carly
KATE-linn - Caitlin
KAY-linn - any really. I don't have a preference. Maybe Calyn
AL-i-sen - Alison
JAY-den - Jaden
KAY-den - Caden
HAY-den - Hayden
AY-den - Aidan
KATH-rinn - Katharine
bree-ANN-a - Brianna
ZO-ee - Zoe
Mak-AY-la - Michaela
MAD-eh-linn - Madeleine

Which other spellings of these names do you find tolerable?

HAY-lee - don't mind Haley
KAY-lee - don't mind Kayley or Caley
CAR-lee - Carlie is okay
KATE-linn - Katelyn is tolerable
KAY-linn - no spelling really
AL-i-sen - Allison is fine but I really prefer the look of the one L
JAY-den - no spelling
KAY-den - I suppose Kaden is okay
HAY-den - no other spelling
AY-den - I don't mind more traditional spellings like Aodhan
KATH-rinn - Catherine, Katherine, Kathryn
bree-ANN-a - Breanna, Briana
ZO-ee - no other spelling
Mak-AY-la - no other spelling
MAD-eh-linn - Madeline is tolerable

If you met anyone with these names, how would you assume they were spelled?

KAY-lee - probably Kaylee unfortunately

KATE-linn - my age, Caitlin or Kaitlin. Younger = Katelyn
KAY-linn - maybe Kaylin
AL-i-sen - Alison or Allison
JAY-den - Jayden
KAY-den - Kaden
HAY-den - Hayden
AY-den - Aiden
KATH-rinn - Katherine
bree-ANN-a - Brianna
ZO-ee - Zoe
Mak-AY-la - Mikayla or Makayla
MAD-eh-linn - Madeleine in Australia. Maybe Madeline everywhere


Are there any spellings of these names you really hate? Or any endings, letter combinations you really hate and why?

HAY-lee - none that I hate
KAY-lee - I hate Kaylee
CAR-lee - none that I hate
KATE-linn - none that I hate
KAY-linn - all are pretty gross. Kaylyn is the worst though
AL-i-sen - Allyson gets on my nerves
JAY-den - I really can't stand the way Jayden looks
KAY-den - I have seen Kaydn and that sucks
HAY-den - Haydn makes me lol
AY-den - I can't stand the look of Aiden. I hate Ayden etc
KATH-rinn - none that I've come across
bree-ANN-a - I know a Briannah and it grosses me out
ZO-ee - anything other than Zoe. Zoey / Zooey are just superfluous
Mak-AY-la - McKayla. URGH
MAD-eh-linn - Madelyn annoys me


How many people with these names have you known? Approximate age? Siblings?

HAY-lee - two or three? In their 20s
KAY-lee - none
CAR-lee - two, late teens and twenties. One has a sister Annie
KATE-linn - a few. One Caitlin has a sister Erin and brother Blake
KAY-linn - none
AL-i-sen - a few my parents' age and younger. One in her 20s
JAY-den - a went to primary with a Jadon
KAY-den - none
HAY-den - a couple. I went to primary with a Hayden. He has a sibling Cecile
AY-den - one my age
KATH-rinn - soo many girls named Katherine / Catherine / Kathryn at my high school
bree-ANN-a - one Briannah, sisters Katie (full name) and Jade
ZO-ee - one, Zoey my age
Mak-AY-la - one 19, spells it Mikayla "Mikki"
MAD-eh-linn - a few my age who go by Maddie / Maddy. Mostly spell it Madeleine

Do you like any of them? Would you use them?

I like Hayley, Caitlin, Katharine, Catherine, Katherine, Kathryn, Zoe and Madeleine.

I'd use Zoe and Katharine.
