Isla is nice, but not my style. It just feels a little unsubstantial to me. Elle is fine. I prefer it as a nickname, as I think it'd personally prefer to have more options with my name, Elle is already so short and nicknamey already that there is no where to go really. Eleanor, Ellen, Elizabeth etc. nickname Elle would be better. I would not pronounce Layne Lay-nee. That pronunciation doesn't really make sense for this spelling, Layne would be pronounced the same as "lane". I also am not all that fond of Layne, it is wordy, and much more masculine than feminine to me. I think Laney or Lainey (which is how I would spell LAY-nee) are nice nicknames for Elaine/Elaina.

Isla is okay. Elle is somewhat uninteresting, not because it's common or anything like that, just because the sound, meaning, look of the name, the feel of it, everything about it is blaaaah. It's one of the most blah names ever. Layne looks made up and trendy. It's like the awful Laney or Lainey, only with a different spelling. It just doesn't appeal. But Isla's quite nice :)

Elle: Not really a name to me, just a fragment of one. Unattractive anyway.Isla: It has kind of a pretty sound but I'm not feeling all the love for it that it gets on name boards.
Layne: This is pronounced Lane, not Lay-nee. Seems dated and dull.

I like Elle and Isla. I would not pronounce Layne as "lay-nee." I don't really like that one, and I also don't think that pronunciation would be the "go-to" for most people.

I'd pronounce Layne just like the word lane. I'd recommend spelling it Lanie or Laynie if you want LAY-nee. I prefer Lana (LA-na or LAY-na).
Isla is lovely. Elle is rather too short for my tastes.

Elle - I like Elle, it's short, sweet and to the point, plus it has a glamorous french feel to meIsla - I like this, but it's being increasingly popular here in EnglandLayne - I'd automatically pronounce this Lane. I like Lainey better for it

I like all threeIsla is actually on my list. I love how you prn Elle. I like Layne but I don't like how you spell it. I knew a girl named Dalaney prn like your Layne. I like Laney better Because it wouldn't ever be prn Lane (which I spell Layne). I hope this makes sense...
