Is Kade that bad?
It's a name that's been on my mind for ages. And while the reasonable part of my mind screams that it's a trendy mispelling of Cade that sounds like the villian in any film, I still just, like it. I told my mum this and she thought I was crazy, saying that it's an awful "chavy" name - is she right?
Would a little Kade be presumed the product of a teenager's drunken one night stand, to be brought up on a rough estate and be banged up in prison before the end of secondary school? How do you think society would percieve Kade, and what are your personal opinions on it?(It's okay to say you hate it, I'm kind of expecting that) :)

I love it but spelled Cade (actually on my favorites list). The spelling Kade isn't terrible, but I think it's like so many other trendy 'K' names that are misspellings of 'C' names. Not my style, but not awful. I wouldn't think too much of it, only that it isn't my preferred spelling.

Also from the UK, and have to say that almost every little kid I've met whose parents could be described as 'chavvy' has had one of those fake-American surname-names that I assume they've got off watching too much crappy daytime TV.
Fake-American surname-name spelt wrong? Yup, pretty much agree with your mum.

Nope; it's worse.

Kade does have a little bit of a chavvy vibe to me, but it's not the worse, I suppose. I think Cade, however, is a bit more respectable looking.

I'm from the UK and I have to agree with your Mum, it is chavvy, and your description of what a Kade might be like sounds pretty accurate. I think the name may be considered differently in the US though.

I don't hate it. I grew up with 3 boys named Kade (Well, one was Cade). In fact, there were best friends named Kade and Kell and I always thought their names were cute together. Anyway, I like it, however I wouldn't use it because of the recent popularity of Kaden (and additional spellings) which makes it seem less special to me :/Also, I have no idea what chavy means.

I think it is bad. Doesn't even sound like a name.

It's not a bad name, but I personally prefer more beautiful-sounding names for girls. However, if you love it go for it :D

Sorry I wasn't clear, I like Kade for a boy - don't think I would ever consider it for a girl! :)

Cade is by far better, and in my area such a name the product of young country music listening rednecks having kids with more love and booze than money or common sense. At least it's not the rough estate chav that is in the UK.

I don't like Kade but I don't hate it. I just don't get the appeal at all. It seems incomplete and not that attractive of a sound.
I do think a younger parent (teens/early 20s) would use this but I wouldn't assume they would be a bad parent or he would end up in jail.

I like Kade. To me, Kade doesn't stand out in a bad way at all. I think it's a nice name, and it would fit right in there with Felix, Oliver, Leo, Theo, Dominic, Jack, Zachary, Maxton, Gabriel etc..

I see Kade as more "cowboy" than "chavy," but I am in Texas, not England. I don't believe Kade would be seen as negative or trashy here, particularly given how common Caden/Kaden is. Kade just seems ordinary; I'd barely notice a Kade, if I met one. It may be a very different story in the UK, though. I guess I'm not being much help at all!FWIW, Cade might be the original, but Kade looks just fine to me. It doesn't cause the same "that's not right" reaction that something like Kassidy or Kole would.

I don't think it's terrible. I don't mind Cade at all, and if it weren't for the -aydens, I might even really love it. Kade does look like a misspelling, but I wouldn't describe it nearly as terribly as you did. :) Mainly, I think both Cade and Kade are super boring now, because of the bajillions of Cadens around.
