Cool Sib Set +Question
Friend just texted to say that she met her husband's cousin's children and their names are Persephone and Loki. They're 7and 8 years old. That's gutsy. I think I love it. Wdyt?
What's the most daring names you would consider using in real life?

I absolutely love that! I think I'd consider using Apollo, and for a girl maybe Briseis. Mythology names are gutsy in general, I think.

Unlike you guys, I love Loki and would use it before I used Persephone. I think I'm mostly against Persephone though because the sound reminds me of Stephanie and that's just -egh.
Loki sounds pretty awesome. But I know, should probably be saved for a cat name or something.
But if I were to use a character name of any of Tom Hiddleston's characters, I'd go with Caius from Coriolanus even though he's less honorable than even Loki.)
The most daring I'd go is questionable. I love "odd" names. Some coming to mind:Dashiell -idk if that's odd.
Jolyon
Anastasio
Ophelian
Brencis
Joscelin
Cairbre / Carbrey
Symphony
Winter -is that odd?
Monday
Nemo
Tarquin
Puck
Rue
Xenia -like Kseniya?
Èponine
Guinevere

Love it! It's a cool sibset for sure, though while I'd use Persephone irl, I'd never use Loki irl. Like Billina said, it's just way too tied to the mythological character and, especially now, the Marvel version of Loki. I wouldn't want to be mistaken as a Loki fangirl for using it (and ngl, I saw Loki recently in a local BA and automatically assumed it was cause of Tom Hiddleston's Loki lol). The most daring names I'd consider using in real life myself though? Artemisia
Berengere
Edurne
Eseld
Helianthe
Jubilee
July
Kynareth
Memphis
Ourania
WinterBedivere
Corvo
Gawain
Perseus
WinterI mention any of these names in real life and I get major side-eye and "are you serious?" questions. The one that gets the biggest reaction though is always Edurne. Poor, unloved Edurne. It was my #1 fave for ages but the reactions have made me hesitant now. Not like I'm expecting kids any time soon but there was a time when Edurne was the one for me.

Omigod that's amazing. Persephone and Loki. Whoa. Nice mix of mythologies. I don't mind Persephone but Loki I don't really like (nothing against Tom Hiddleston though lololol). Right. Most daring name I would consider using. Well, I really love Lyra, which I usually just think of as a middle name but first name would be cool. I also really like Lux, Sidonie, Tallis and Avalon for a girl. Avalon isn't very daring though. I've met someone called Avalon. Aisling would be another one. Again, not very daring, but I don't live in Ireland or the UK so mispronunciations would abound. For some reason I like Prosper for a boy. I don't know if I'd ever actually consider using it because I don't like that it's a word name, I just think it sounds nice. Continuing the Norse-ness of Loki, I like Soren, although I don't think I say it how it's meant to be said. Also Lorcan and Torin for boys.

Um...I think they're okay. I can't imagine actually naming a child Loki, though. It's so connected to the myth, it seems silly on a real person, not daring.Persephone is not my style, but I think it works better as a real name. You can give her nicknames: Seph, Sephie, Percy. Percy on a girl is more daring to me, in truth, maybe because it's traditionally masculine but doesn't sound as such. I don't know, I might be talking in circles for this one. :PThe most daring names I would consider using in real life? This is a hard question for me to answer, because I wouldn't go "daring" if I actually had a child. If I had kids right this minute, I would name a boy Nathan and a girl Leah. My real life style would be run-of-the-mill and totally functional, not unusual or fancy- I would probably do that with the middle names (Leah Sheridan is the combo I would most likely use). So, I'll say Sheridan for a girl, because I've always inexplicably loved it, and Callahan for a boy. Sherry/Dany, Cal, those would be fun to play with.

I knew a Sheridan tooI've always like Sheridan for a girl mainly because my eye doctor when I was growing up had a pretty and sweet daughter named Sheridan who also worked at his office. She's probably in her early 30's now. Her brother's name was Nicholas. Doc himself was named Blaine! :)

I kknow a SheridanShe was my instructor when I was studying medical transcription. She'd be in her sixties now, and she went by Sheri, and her last name was also a sh name.
