So from the list below, which name would you choose for Jasper's little brother and why? Another question I know, but curious to see what everyone thinks "matches" with Jasper! Some of these names are on our list and some aren't because DH doesn't like them. Thanks.Seth

I would choose Gideon, Barnaby or Solomon based on how they sound together with Jasper. I do like Asher, Isaac, Jonah and Ezra. How about these combos?
Gideon Asher or Gideon Isaac
Barnaby Jonah
Solomon Ezra

From your list I like:
Seth - This just seems to fit really well with Jasper, they both have the same lispy feel.
Isaac - This is my nephews name and I think it's just so handsome and classic but still with a touch of spunk and freshness.
Louis - Gorgeous.
Gideon - Very handsome, and sounds nice with Jasper.
Amos - Nice. Don't like:
Barnaby - I do really like this name, but I think it's a bit pretentious.
Judah/Jethro/Jonah - I don't like any of the other J names with Jasper.
Rex - Doesn't feel substantial enough.
Asher - this is incredibly difficult to say with Jasper.
Ezra - I like this, it's just a different style to Jasper.
Moses - too overtly religious.
Remy - Very different stylewise to Jasper.
Jed - very country bumpkin I don't see any redeeming features.
Abel - Just doesn't appeal to me, I guess I don't like the homonym.
Hosea - Doesn't appeal at all, and it is completely different from Jasper.

1. Asher
2. Gideon
3. Ezra
4. RexTo me Jasper is a modern-sounding name that happens to be vaguely biblical. Many of the names on your list seem over-the-top biblical / archaic to me. Sort of stern and oldtestamenty-severe, while Jasper seems better humored. Not the ones I have listed, though. And of course Rex, which just shares a sort of butch brightness with Jasper, so it's a similar seeming style even though it does not really match.

I think these go with Jasper:Seth
Isaac
Remy - this is my first choice! Jasper and Remy would be so cute together!
Louis - this would be my second pick. Are you pronouncing it Loo-is or Loo-ee?
Jonah - I don't like the idea of both brothers' names starting with 'J' though
Gideon - this would be my third pick
Solomon

Louis would be Loo-ee.

Judah- handsome, sounds great with Jasper. Nn Jude is also adorable.
Asher-not huge favorite, but it's a nice name and also goes well with Jasper
Isaac-handsome, classic, sounds like a tough, yet sweet set of brothers.
Jethro- very cool:) nms, but does sound great with Jasper!
Jonah-also a nice name.
Gideon-love. Handsome and classic. Different style than Jasper but still sounds good together.

Isaac, without a doubt. I don't love it but it's nice enough and the others are all ugly ugly ugly. And Rex and Tex are particularly awful; Rex is a dog's name that nobody ever uses for dogs anymore, like Fido. And Tex is a nn somebody earns because he's, what do you know, from Texas!

I'd pick Abel. I think it matches nicely, it's my favorite name of this list, and I think it's very underused!

I'd choose Louis. Isaac, Barnaby and Jonah work for me too.

I would pick Moses, for sure. It's perfect with Jasper. It's got the same vibe. Unexpected but classic. Very cool. And I love 'Mo"My next choice would be Solomon, for the same reasons. I also love Seth with Jasper. I really love Judah as well, but I prefer a non J names with Jasper. Same goes for Asher, I like it, but not as much with Jasper as the others, due to the same ending. So many great choices, might as well mix it up a little, you know?

It's a toss up between Isaac and Asher. They're the only names I remotely like on your list (sorry) but I do love them. If I cared about "matching" sibset names I'd go with Isaac, just because I think they have a more similar feel than Asher and Jasper though I don't think they're on the same page. I marginally like Asher as a general name more than Isaac because it's more exciting and not as common. :)

Jasper and Barnaby both sound deliciously Victorian! For the rest, nicknamey names like Tex and Jed seem too far removed from Jasper. Two-syllable J names don't match well either, to my ears and eyes. Louis could work, and so could Gideon, but I prefer Barnaby.

Jasper & AmosWhat about Felix, Emmett (too twilight maybe), Pierce, Ambrose, Rueben, Tobias/Tobin, Uriah, Conrad, Ezekiel, Oscar, Isidore, Remiel, Emrys, Vance, Shiloh, Lucian

We do love Felix and that's what we were thinking of going with first, but the Biblical association (which is important to us) puts us off a bit. We also love Reuben, which we could only use as a mn since we have a niece named Ruby and Oscar, but I feel Oscar is too popular. Ezekiel and Emmett are nice, though I would choose something else over them. Tobias and Tobin are also nice, but DH's step-dad is Toby, so we couldn't use those names. The other names I wouldn't use, though I do have a soft spot for Shiloh, but I prefer it for a girl. Thanks for your input, I always love to hear what you think since we have similar naming tastes!

Seth & Jasper - I find them too lispy together. They don't exactly clash but they have different styles imo. Also I hate Seth (strong words!) so...
Barnaby & Jasper - Jasper and Barnaby sound like pets so I veto this
Judah & Jasper - they clash
Asher & Jasper - WAY too similar sounding, but I can see why you'd love Asher if you love Jasper
Rex & Jasper - again, they sound likes pets, like your two cats Rex and Jasper
Isaac & Jasper - I think these make great-sounding brothers
Ezra & Jasper - I also like this pairing
Tex & Jasper - urgh Tex! They sound like a pair of sheriffs or something. No
Jethro & Jasper - maybe as an indie clothing brand, but not for a sibset. Kind of hickish too. And I would love cats named Jethro and Jasper. Jethro man. I like it for a cat!
Moses & Jasper - They don't gel, and Moses... I wouldn't saddle an Aussie kid with Moses
Remy & Jasper - they go really really well, but in Australia I've seen Remy more on girls. I would definitely think Remy was Jasper's sister

I love your taste in boy names! I really do. Just looking at that list makes me happy. My absolute favorites are Abel, Remy and Solomon. Actually, I think I want Solomon to be the middle name. Abel Solomon and Jasper Emmanuel. Love it! Remy Solomon and Jasper Emmanuel. Love it!
