My favorite combo poll was definitely the Hawaiian/Hungarian one. Those names are amazing! I also like the French and Russian combos!
*Can Niamh be pronounced "nee-vee" also? Background: I met a girl a few years ago (she was born around 2000) and told me her name was "nee-vee". I thought, "Oh, okay, Nieve". Anyway, her father spelled it for me as Niamh, I believe (he was Irish, and I didn't understand Irish phonetics, so you can imagine the look on my face). But, I can't remember if he ever called her "Neev" or not. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks! That was definitely the most challenging category. Glad you liked them. :0)Niamh is technically "NEE-uv" in Irish. (My mother was born and raised in County Cork. We visited a lot when I was growing up. So I have a special yen for Irish names and ask my cousins about them. Caveat: Southern accents like Cork may be different to other parts.) When spoken at normal speed, it's more like "neev." "Nee-vee" sounds like a nickname for Niamh, like Evie for Eve / Eva. But that's just a guess. And I would think it would be spelled more like Nevie / Neevie than Niamh.

Ah, thank you! That's what I was looking for. He said Nee-uv (I guess he didn't have a Southern accent). That clears up a whole lot of things...
