Johann and Johannes
Both Johann and Johannes have been growing on me. What do you think of both and which one do you think is better?

Johannes is one of my absolute favourites. I wish I could have used it for one of my children, but my husband refused.
Johann, not so much. Johan must be the most common name for men between 35 and 50 where I live, so I find it boring and totally uninspired.

Johannes is very old-fashioned where I live. I prefer Johan, with one N and the emphasis on the second syllable.

I have a cousin named Johan, which is a fairly nice and classic Swedish name, yet due to it's popularity in my generation. I really prefer Johan over Johann though, which is very, very German to me.Johannes is also nice. It's also fairly popular where I live, but not boring. I also like Johannes nn Hannes. So yeah, between these two, I'd go with Johannes.

I prefer Johannes. Both are used incredibly commonly in my family tree so I feel a sort of attachment to them. Lots of French relatives back in the 18th century.

I love the way Johann sounds, but hate the way it looks, and love the way Johannes looks and hate the way it sounds. My life is hard. I can't even really answer your questions. Helpful right.

Both names nice but I slightly prefer Johannes because Johann seems a bit oldfashioned to me. I also like the nn Hannes very much.

I prefer Johann, but that's because I know a very annoying Johannes. I really like the name.
