I'm usually the first to argue that the car should not render Mercedes unusable as a personal name, but yeah, can't say the same for Edsel.

Ah, I see. You have associations with some of the names that I have not heard of. My grandfather collects and shows antique autos and loves this type of car, but I can see why some may think the association too strong. It was considered a failure only because so many people purchased a car they thought was new-age, but it was really just the same. Marketing ploy I guess... but I like the way it looks. I assumed the association would have died out by now. I might consider another Ed-name in it's place. Thanks.
