Mild disagreement...
I have posted several times getting ideas and opinions, and my hubby and I are having a mild disagreement. Our baby girl should be here in a about 2 to 3 weeks and we can't decide. First of all, whether her first or middle name is Grace, that's what we will be calling her. My husband wants Victoria Grace, he thinks it sounds better. I would like to do Grace Victoria Kay, (Kay is after my sister)... Especially since we will be calling her Grace. One of our sons goes by his middle name, so it's not a huge deal, but I just would like to hear some opinions...
Thanks!

I think Grace Victoria is best. Grace as a middle name is overdone, but I do like it in the first name position. My favorite Grace combo is Grace Isabel.I think the addition of Kay subtracts from the overall tastefulness, however. Grace Katherine would be finer.

If you are going to call her Grace then use Grace as the first name.

Well I think Victoria Grace sounds better than Grace Victoria Kay, but if you want to use Kay then you should do it your way because Grace Victoria Kay sounds better than Victoria Grace Kay. And if you're going to call her Grace you should just have that be her first name.

Go with Grace Victoria Kay! I love seeing Grace being used as a fn.

Victoria Grace is much more predictable. I mean, Emma Grace, Sophia Grace, Lily Grace, Victoria Grace, etc etc ad nauseam, they're a dime a dozen.
Grace Victoria sounds just a shade more interesting, and since you want to call her Grace, skip the messy middle step and make Grace her first name. Also, Grace Victoria Kay sounds much nicer than Victoria Grace Kay.

I prefer Grace Victoria Kay

I think Victoria Grace sounds better by far, however, if you're certain you're going to use Kay as a mn, then Grace Victoria Kay is the only way to go. Having a dd who goes by her mn for the most part (Victoria Brooke), I will warn you that you will hear Victoria a LOT over the years because some people just won't listen. In fact, my dd has gone by Victoria in the last several years because some professors simply wouldn't call her Brooke. She uses Victoria now professionally, btw.I agree with you that going by one's mn isn't that big of a deal for the most part. In my dh's immediate family, four members do. :-)

I prefer Grace Victoria Kay. I can't see any other way of fitting Kay in.

Grace Victoria, with or without the Kay :)Grace Victoria sounds whimsical, white with a pearly sheen. It's lovely. And if you're going to call her Grace anyway, I think it's always better to have the name she's going to be using the in front. It's just easier. Victoria Grace, on the other hand, sounds stuffy and boring. There's nothing very sweet about it, and even Grace (a name I love) looks boring and colourless trailing after Victoria like that.

Very well said, I agree. Grace as a middle name seems like a filler.

As someone who goes by their middle name, I would personally giving her the name you are going to actually call her as her first name. It is a giant pain in the ass to constantly have to explain that I go by my middle name and why, and I always have to put my first name for anything official and I really don't like my first name. I plan on switching them around legally when I move back to Aus because it's just such a headache. So I'd recommend avoiding that. Grace Victoria Kay GMV.Grace is really pretty. Congratulations!

I go by my middle name, also. (My parents' choice.)I do like both names, though. Where I live, a French-speaking area, people find it mildly odd that I have a man's name, Jean.
If I spelled it Jeanne, all would be clear, but I won't, it was my mother's middle name, and I like it.

Eh, go with Grace Victoria Kay, since you'll be calling her Grace in any case. I think Victoria Grace sounds better, agreeing with your husband, because I love Victoria and merely like Grace. But Grace Victoria flows quite well and I'm not seeing the reason to make her go by her middle name. I've known quite a few people who do, and it's really not a big deal, but I don't see a reason for it unless there's a reason for it. And I'm all for honoring, so I say Grace Victoria Kay.

I like Grace Victoria Kay. Victoria Grace is nice and all, but Grace seems like such a filler there. And if you are planning on calling her Grace, might as well make the name center stage instead of some filler-y sounding middle name.

I like your version better especially if it's important to you to add your
sisters name. Victoria Grace sounds so overly posh.
