I'm a Katerina myself, and while I've warned to it, Kat names are not my favorite thing. I think Katalinka is kind of cool, and I like Katelijn--very Dutch looking. I hate Katarina because it's like my name but not and feels like a misspelling, even though I know it's not. These names (Katherine based names) are nice in their nickname options. There are so many! I like Kate and Katie, which are my general nns of choice, but I like Katya too.

Aw, it's a shame you're not so fond of being a Katerina, I think it's such a lovely name. I can definitely understand your dislike for Katarina, though, as alternate spellings of my own name can make me cringe a little, particularly with such a small difference as one letter.
