Tarrant
Wdyto Tarrant for a boy?
The obvious nn would probably be Tarry. Is that bad?
Any other nn ideas?Wdyto Tarrant Solomon?-------------------

I really want to like it, the sound is nice enough (though I loathe nn Tarry). But it really seems too wordish to me. It's bringing to mind the words warrant, and tarantula, and torrential. Stick with Terrence, Taryn, or even Terrace.

I know a Tarrant, suits him well. He doesn't have a nickame which would be preferable than Tarry.Tarrant Solomon is nice

I just learned that it's a river. ;)
It's not bad, but it makes me think of the words "torrent" and "tarantula".

I was thinking tarantella. It sounds made up to me.

My only encounters with Tarrant have been as a last name, and I don't think it's an especially attractive one at that. It wouldn't be for me.Love Solomon, though.

Never heard of it before... I immediantly associated it with Terrence. It's quite the same sound with a different spelling- personally I don't like either of them...

Hmmm.
Hmmmmmmmm.I think it could grow on me. Is it TA-rant or TAH-rant? Google tells me it's a surname, and the surname is from a river in Dorset (England). The more I say it, the more I start to like the sound. I like TA-rant much better than TAH-rant though. Maybe because TAH-rant (in my accent anyway) sounds just a bit to close to tyrant?Tarry is fine for a nn, I think, again if it has a short A. I don't think anyone uses it to mean "linger" enough for it to be a problem. But if it's TAH-ree it sounds like he's covered in tar, and not so great.
