Is this OK? Too out there?
Me and hubby are naming our third son Alfie (hubby's choice) our first twin boys were Jude & Henry. I know a fair few Alfies so want a unique middle name. I love Wolf .. So he'd be Alfie Wolf or Alfred Wolf... Nickname will be Wolfie :) which I love!
Firstly Alfie or Alfred???
Secondly does Wolf sound OK? With alfie/Alfred or too much "F"
Jude and Henry were stillborn (late miscarriage) so Alfie will be our first live child I still want a name to compliment his brothers though. Any suggestions very welcome!!!

Alfred Wolf is totally cool in my book. Alfie for short. I just prefer nickname-ish first names to have a longer, formal name to fall back on.I do think it compliments their names.

I like Alfie. I prefer it to Alfred, especially in this day and age. Alfie Wolf isn't my style but it's not bad =)

I don't like nicknames as first names, so I'd go with Alfred.I find WOlf and Wolfie silly, sorry.

Alfie sounds great. Alfred is nice, too. Wolf, on the other hand...nah. Alfie Wolf sounds too children's book-ish for my taste.
Jude and Henry are very nice names.

Alfred Wolf sounds handsome and fits in nicely with Jude and Henry. Alfie is childish and too much of a nick name compared to Jude and Henry.

Alfred Wolf is the winner to me. Alfie Wolf is too similar to alpha wolf.

Ok, so Alfie Wolf is sooooo cute. But I think for a real person it seems overly so. But not to the extent that I'd think it was a horrible name to give a person. It sounds like a celebrity baby name, perhaps. But if you love it I certainly would go for it. I think Alfie fits in ok with Jude and Henry, goes better than Alfred does even though I'd rather see full names and not nicknames used for legal names.

Please, please use Alfred rather than Alfie. Alfie sounds like a dog name. Frankly, it is silly. As for Wolf ... more dog. Alfie is lightweight and silly, Wolf is wild and menacing. But Alfred combined with a less "out there" mn has real potential. Please rethink, for the sake of your son.

I like Alfie as a nickname for Alfred. Alfred has more teeth behind it and sounds stronger than Alfie on its own. It also complements Jude and Henry very well.Alfred Wolf is nice! Never heard of it. I would stick with Alfie as a nickname, not Wolfie. Wolfie sounds like a name given to a puppy, IMO. Alfie just sounds more human-like, I guess.

I love Alfie, but I would use Alfred as a full name because Alfred is very juvenile sounding. I do think that F's are too close together with Alfie Wolf, but I think Alfred Wolf sounds very handsome. Congratulations on your son and I'm sorry about your twins.

Alfie is so cute and spunky, I really like it. I prefer Alfie to Alfred, as Alfred seems a little stuffy to me. Alfie Wolf is great! I love it actually.

For me, Alfred Wolf is handsome and the hands-down choice. Dad can still use "Alfie" if he likes, so can teachers/classmates/co-workers, etc.For me, Alfie Wolf just doesn't sound/flow well. If Dad is set on Alfie and not open to Alfred, I would either choose a different middle name with a "wolf" meaning that flows better and still makes "Wolfie" sense, or add another middle name between Alfie and Wolf to improve the flow.

Go with Alfred and call him Alfie. Alfie is such a childish name, it would be good for him to have a more grown up name to fall back on. And I say this as someone who thinks people don't always need to do that.I'm not a big fan of Alfred Wolf, but it sounds fine.

I love Wolf! I think it sounds particularly brilliant as Alfred Wolf (so the Fs are more separated). Really great name!

I am so sorry about Henry and Jude. I know how heartbreaking it is. I think Allie sounds fine as a brother to Jude and Henry, but I'd go for Alfred. Alfred can have the nickname Alfie, and Alfred never has to be used (except on legal documents), but it's there, just in case. I also think Alfred ages better and sounds more dignified (and, bonus, he'll know he's REALLY in trouble when Alfred is used!). I find Alfred Wolf adorable, yet noble. It sounds like both you and your husband are already in love with the name. I wouldn't change a thing. Congratulations and good luck!

I say go for Alfred. Alfie sounds too juvenile. I say use it as a nickname.

Definitely Alfred. You can call an Alfred Alfie, but you can't call an Alfie Alfred; people will try to, and have to be corrected endlessly. If it was my choice, I'd seriously consider Alfred Henry Jude. It sounds good, is very distinctive and would be a strong living link.

I vote for Alfred. Sounds better with your other childrens names, and I think it's good to have a formal name ot fall back on. I like Wolf, but I don't think it sounds great with Alfie/Alfred. It isn't a huge deal though as it's a middle name.

I prefer Alfie as a nickname for Alfred. Wolf's not really my style, but Alfred Wolf is ok.

I love Alfie as a nick name for Alfred or as a whole name but not with Wolf. Like RoxStar, it made me think of alpha wolf which seems very gimicky. Alfie Bear could work ok. Or maybe Alfie Leon or Alfie Guy.

Alfie Bear?!Now we move from comic-book to picture book. lol

Alfie Bear isn't exactly to my taste either but I like it nore than Alfie Wolf and I suggested it as a similar but less gimicky alternative. As it's similar it might fit with Hannah's style and if it doesn't fit ours it doesn't really matter.

Alfie is just terrible. It's babyish and moronic and just about cartoonish.
Alfie Wolf sounds like Alpha Wolf, like a comic book or something.Wolfie is silly too.
My advice is go back to the drawing board.

I like it! :D It's nice to see originality in naming.
