Re: Irish girl name?
Well...
Casey, Shea, Carey, Ennis and Brogan are all unisex and Irish, so that might give you the masculine feel that you like. I have always personally like Maura, which is more modern and less in-your-face Irish than Maureen (which I also love). Plus, Morry is a masculine nickname and could be reasonably used for Maura.
Mona, Moira and Myrna are decent alternatives to that too. Otherwise, here are a few that I happen to really like:
Treasa
Orla
Edna (nn Ed or Eddie?)
Finola (gives you the nn Finn, but it's not as Irish in spelling as Fionnuala)
Riona (great alternative to Fiona)
Slaine
Ashling (nn Ash is masculine)
Breda
Darina (nn Dar)
Hope that helps!______________________________________________

Love that everyone is commented with Orla because it is another favorite of mine. But Orla is a very distinct character so I can't get the wires mixed up :) Treasa is another good one!
