thoughts on Hayden
Hi what do you think of Hayden for a boy? It's the dad of my unborn child's middle name and is his grandmothers maiden name so has significance

I don't like it, since I think it sounds pretentious. But if it has significance to you, go for it.

I dislike all other -aiden names but I have a soft spot for Hayden. I find it quite charming =)

I'd like to see it as a mn with family significance. As a fn, I don't like lnfns in general, and I've seen a lot of variant spellings, like Haydon, which don't appeal. Also, I've met a Haydn, that spelling, who pronounced his name like Haydon instead of like the composer. So there are issues, apart from the obvious nn being Hay!That said, I certainly don't see it as a girl name - was that what you meant?

I think it's handsome--it's my very favorite of the rhymes-with-Aidan names and the only one I'd ever consider using--and I love its significance for your family.

It's a good name. I know a kid named Hayden who's 11.
I would wonder if maybe it'll go feminine because of the actress. Doubt it.

Holy crap I just looked and it's only 70 spots behind the boys rank for girls. 123 to 193 ...or something close to that.

Love it. It's in my top 5 for boys.

If it has significance to you, it could be a great choice. Personally, I find it blends with the many many rhyming -ayden names, so I don't find it interesting at all.

Honestly, I'm very tired of any -aiden or -ayden or -aden names that produce that sound. However, since it has so much significance to you, I think it would go well in the middle name spot.

I really like Hayden on a boy. It's my favourite of all the -ayden names, and one of the few that will actually age well.

I think that Hayden is really quite handsome. I find it sad that Hayden gets lumped into the -aden atrocity's since it's a lovely name with quite a bit of history. I personally don't like names that are super popular, and even though I don't know any Hayden's I know a million other -aden names. But if that doesn't bother you and it has a lot of significance you should go for it!

With familial significance I could get behind almost any name. Hayden is a handsome name for a boy or a man. I'd give it a thumbs up.

I actually love Hayden but only for a boy. I wish that Aiden, Jayden, and Caden or any of their variants weren't so popular or I would use it in a heartbeat.

I like it better that it has a strong family significance for you.Just as a name without taking that into consideration, I'm just not a fan. I'm over all the Aidan/Cayden/Hayden/Jayden/Zayden names. Way too many of them out there right now and those names have completely lost their appeal.
