Re: Carole

Actually Karoly (a man's name) is in the Hungarian vein. That is what inspired us. We actually wanted to use Karoly or Karolie... but felt it too foreign a spelling. Caroly suited my dislike of excessive vowels and my husband's love of names that end in "ie" or "a". We didn't end up using it obviously... though my sister preferred Carolie or Carolee like you. I agree with the more delicate feel of Carole... and love names that are dated actually. Because they tend to sound fresh. DD is Clarisse... but people hear Clarice when we say it. So... spelled she looks modern, but out loud her name packs that solid punch of the past. ______________________________________________
