Generational differences
BABY BOOMER GENERATION (1946-1964)
They were children of the Greatest and Silent Generation, who preferred traditional names. For boys, it was John, Richard (Rick), Thomas (Tom), Steve, Michael (Mike), Robert (Bob, Rob, etc.), and William (Bill). For girls, it was Linda, Lisa, Susan, Mary, Christine (Chris), Karen, Barbara, and Patricia (Pat).GENERATION X (1965-1978)
They were mainly children of the Baby Boomer Generation and while some parents preferred traditional names, others preferred more unique names. For boys, it was Michael (Mike), Christopher (Chris), Jason, Brian, and Matthew (Matt). For girls, it was Jennifer (Jenny), Melissa (Missy), Kelly, Michelle, and Heather.MILLENNIALS (1979-1999)
They were children of younger Baby Boomers and older Gen-Xers, who were more unique when it came to naming their children. For boys it was Christopher/Kristopher (Chris/Kris), Joshua (Josh), Brandon, Jordan, Tyler, Kyle, Logan, Matthew (Matt), and Austin. For girls, it was Jessica, Kayla, Megan, Christina (Chrissy), Amanda (Mandy), Ashley, Kelly, Taylor, and Brittany.GENERATION Z (2000-present)
These are the children of younger Gen-Xers and older Millennials, who are even more unique with naming their children. For boys, it was Aiden, Ethan, Alexander (Alex), Mason, and Connor. For girls, it was Olivia, Ava, Emily, Madison, Emma, and Sophia.Thoughts?
