Spencer- Dislike on either gender. I know a horrible person named Spencer. And on a girl... it's just weird.
Kai- I agree that it has a certain feminine quality to it. But it's one of the only male names I like! Please don't steal it!
Asa- See Kai. I actually thought this was a girl's name when I first heard it. But now, I'm used to its masculinity.
Sam- Good for male or female, but only as a nickname. Samuel for a boy and Samara for a girl is my pick.
Alex- See Sam. I like it for Aleksander, or possibly Aleksei, on a boy. For a girl I like Alexia or Aleksa.

Everything true. Spencer doesn't really work on a girl, and Kai is not okay to steal from boys.
