I once knew, though only briefly and not well, an American girl with this name. To me, its sound is close enough to Ashley, a massively popular (though dropping) and ubiquitous name in the US, to render Aisling itself boring. And Ashley I've always been so meh about, it's not really bad, but there's something about it that's never grabbed me. Also, at least here in the US, the spelling and pronunciation issues with Aisling are a pain. Also Aisling looks ugly written, IMO.
