What do you think about the name Stella Jane?
I'm not 100% sure. I like the name but all my friends don't so I got doubts now. My two favourite names were Stella and Scarlett. I'm wondering if I should choose Scarlett instead? Do you like the name Stella Jane?
Do you prefer Scarlett Jane?Thank you for your help

Stella Jane is cute and spunky. I like it heaps better than SCARlett.

Stella Jane is nice. It feels a bit old fashioned to me, probably because Stella was my grandmother's name. But the name is currently on a popularity upswing, so I guess there are or at least soon will be plenty of little girls, teens, and young women named Stella.I prefer Stella Jane to Scarlett Jane.

Scarlett will looks odd in certain places, whereas Stella will "fit in" better. Stella is a steadier classic. Scarlett looks more "downmarket" than Stella. If that sort of thing is a concern.I do like Stella Jane. I do not prefer Scarlett Jane. Scarlett Joan I do like though! (unsolicited opinion sharing)

Thank you for your response. Scarlett Joan is very pretty too.

I like Stella Jane a lot! Certainly enough to use it, given enough daughters.Scarlett doesn't please me at all. It seems dated but still show-offy.

Thank you. Makes me feel better that there are people who like the name. Don't want to make a mistake because to me it's important that my baby will love her name as it's for a lifetimte :)

I prefer Scarlett to Stella because Stella makes me think of stale bread. Jane seems like a filler probably because it's been used so much.

I like the combo. I don't think Scarlett Jane has the same ring to it. Go with Stella Jane.

Stella in my opinion is far superior to Scarlett, which just seems prickly and off-putting. Stella is punchy, feminine and Jane gives it a nice classic feel.I do prefer Estella called Stella, but out of your choices, I'd definitely go with Stella. Is Jane negotiable? It is sort of a filler middle name, unless you have a strong tie to it.Others that might be more interesting with a classic feel...Stella Caroline
Stella Penelope
Stella Josephine

Stella Elizabeth maybe? Elizabeth is my mother's name who passed away a year ago. Thank you.

I'll just give you some unsolicited advice first. Everyone can give you their opinions on a name, but in the end the choice is yours. My grandma hated my sister's name at first, but she eventually came around and loved both my sister and her name dearly.Stella and Scarlett are both nice names. Personally, I prefer Stella. Jane is a bit filler for a middle name, which means it sounds nice with both first names even if it is super common. Definitely use it if it has meaning for you, though!

Thank you for your reply. I shouldn't worry about the negative comments from friends but since my mom passed away a year ago I have lost confidence. She used to help me choose and her opinion was very important to me. yes, Jane is like a filler lol but it sounds nice together with Stella. My other two daughters have already Rose, Marie, Lily and Grace in their names otherwise I would have picked stella rose, stella Marie or stella grace. Thank you so much your opinion really helps

I don't mind the first names. And if they are your favourite names you should definitely use either of those. I prefer Scarlett to Stella.
I don't really like the middle name. Are you honoring someone? If not, do you like Jane or just like the flow of the combination?
Someone asked on a recent post which classic names we disliked the most, and my answer was Jane because it sounds boring. If I had to pick something that has a similar flow I'd go with Scarlett Wren. But that's just me. If you like Stella Jane, just go with it and your friends can name their own kids :)

Jane is not my favourite either but it flows nicely worth stella. Also the meaning of jane is rather nice. It's a little old and maybe somewhat plain but it sounds sweet and soft. I was thinking Stella Jane Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the name of my deceased mother who my life and best friend.
