Re: Mythological names - pretentious?
I think if Cassandra and Daphne are acceptable, why not Narcissa and Evadne? Why should we be restricted to what mythological names are arbitrarily deemed more modest? Screw that, I say!

Sometimes sentences don't end the way you think they salad.

Narcissa and Evadne don't sound that pretentious to me. Narcissa could have had a boost from HP, and Evadne is close to Evan, Ever, Eve/ Ava. What about something like Psyche? It might not be pretentious, but still a head scratcher to me. But to each his/ her own.

Psyche is a word used in English, though.Persephone, Mnemosyne, Eurydice, Agamemnon on the other hand.. I still feel, why not? Their pronunciation may not be immediately clear to most people, so I would usually argue for the mn spot, but they lend themselves easily to nicknames.
