what spelling?
I starting to dig the name Elissa, Which was otherwise a mythological character also known As Dido, Also there is an Elissa in the Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio.
Anywho
I kinda like the spelling Elyssa too. but Me thinks that might be a different aura or name souce... maybe from Elisabeth. or is it Alyssa? not sure if anyone knows please tell me.
Anyhow which spelling do you like more Aesthetically or meaning wise?
so Elissa or Elyssa? or some other spelling for my name lists.

Elyssa - aesthetics, mostly. -

I prefer Elissa. I'd assume Elyssa was a creatively spelled Alyssa. I prefer Elisa to either of them however.

As a proper name, the correct spelling is really to the preferential judgment of the person named or character's author. I am not the best pronouncer, so I, or anyone else, might also think of a different pronunciation than you intend by a certain spelling. That said - I rather like the "Elyssa" spelling, which would be unusual for me.

Elissa looks better.

I like Elissa better by far. Elissa has a long history. Also, Elyssa looks like a cross between Alyssa and Elysia, and I like both of those better than Elyssa.

I like the spelling Elissa most. I would think it is a combo of influences of Elisabeth and Alyssa; I don't think there is a straight answer of its origin in English language use.I know an Elyssa and it's always looked messy to me. That is probably my least favorite spelling of the name. She also gets called Elise a lot, though I imagine the same problem would occur with Elissa.I also know an Alissa. I think this spelling is pretty too. I guess I'd rank these, in order of favorites:Elissa
Alyssa
Alissa
Elyssa

Definitely Elissa. Elyssa looks like a trendy Alyssa.

I prefer Elissa. Mostly because names with the y alternative never seem quite as respectable and legit. Elyssa is almost an exception, since it is quite pretty to look at, but it reminds me a bit of Elysium with this spelling. It's not an aweful connection, but I would prefer Elissa nonetheless. Honestly, I know it is pronounced a bit different, but I like Elisa better than both Elissa and Elyssa... by far.

Sorry, made a mistake, I put Elissa for my name instead of Mercy Joy, for your information, so please don't get mad at me for posting, since I am not signed in... I hope you are doing good and having fun with all the names...
