Re: Girl names for third child
in reply to a message by maire
Although I really like several of your names (Anneliese, Cassia, Helena), I prefer another name to complement Ronan (love) and Llyr. Of the names you've listed, I think Meredith complements them best. Suggestions: Aine, Ailsa, Gwendolen or other similar names.Re: Freya, this reminds me of when I was pregnant with my first child. My dh was married before and had a son who was born prematurely and lived for a week. He was named after my dh although he wasn't a junior. He couldn't have been since his mn was the name of his mother's late brother. Fast forward 4.5 years and dh's family (mainly his mother) was pressuring me to name our baby James Odell III if it was a boy. Not only did I find it incredibly tacky, but my dh and I both felt that all Jamie really had that was his alone was his name and we didn't want to give it to another child. I'm not the type of person who would do that sort of thing anyway (too many beautiful names out there to have to repeat) so I was happy that dh agreed with me.As for you, I'd say that if you're referring to Freya by her name (and I'm sure you are), then it's probably not ideal to name another child Freya. As a mn, perhaps, but not as a fn. Obviously, you and your dh must do what feels right to you. My dh and I do know a couple who miscarried two ds and finally had a living ds and named all three of them the same name (after the father). I don't know how they did it because they were referring to all of the ds by the same name while pregnant (the first two passed away at 28 weeks).
