Re: "Classic" names...not.
in reply to a message by LMS
Wow. A bit misguided, to say the least. The only possibly "classic" (I'm taking classic to mean: a name that stands the test of time) names I see are Max, maybe Gwendollyn (but definitely not with that spelling), and Ville (but that's only classic in Finland, maybe Sweden too)....What does (g) mean? That doesn't mean girl does it? Please tell me it doesn't mean girl.

She wanted Ville on a girl.

Ville is classic as a nickname in Sweden; most Villes are named Vilhelm, though.

Yes, (g) usually means "girl" they like Max on a girl, and apparently think it's classic. Damn it all Jessica Simpson!

Oh, wow.Ignoring the "classic" concept, I think Max on a girl is fine, as a nickname.But... Charleston... on a girl. Oh my.

I have a soft spot for Charleston, for a girl. Blame "state of affairs". :)

I totally understand having soft spots for names because of characters!
