Re: #1 Girl name
in reply to a message by Danno
If I was really forced to pick.... Isidora. But I feel the need to explain a little further.I have loved the name Isadora since I first heard it in A Series of Unfortunate Events. I read those books when I was 7, so I have loved at least some variation of this name for 12 years. My taste is names has generally been very fickle. Charlotte was my absolute favorite name up until I was 11 or 12. I remember loving Scarlett, Claire, Sylvie, Matilda, enough to call them my favorite names at some point. In the past ~5 years the names that frequently topped my list have been Sylvia, Miriam, Johanna, Beatrice, Ramona, Paloma, Daphne, Georgina - I've loved a lot of names, in other words. There has never been a time when Isidora ranked absolutely number one on my list. It's even a name that I'd hesitate to use in real life because I have a hard time imagining a real life woman pulling it off, and I'd rather it didn't get shortened to Izzy or Dora. But with all the changes to my list over the years, my love for this name has never wavered. So that feels like the most fitting answer to this question. If the question is - what is your favorite name right at this minute that if a baby girl magically appeared in your arms you would name her with hesitation - then it's Johanna.http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/87410
