Re: Dagmar, Fay, Beulah, & Myrtle
in reply to a message by RDNZL
I would never use any of them. I kind of admire Dagmar, but I can't say it without it sounding ugly. Myrtle and Beulah sound comic to me - their sounds are just so ugly in my accent, murdull and byooluh. Good "ironic" names for inanimate objects. Fay seems neither fey nor glamorous despite wanting to be. It's just sort of squishy and weak (and it doesn't help that the only Fay I've ever met, was an unpleasant person).Did you use the names because you like them?- mirfak

Well, rather strange name pick list, Dagmar is a distant cousin of mine, which doesn't make the name much nicer for me ...Beulah & Myrtle - so much the worse, never everFay/Faye - neither one (+) nor the other (-), rather bland, expressionless name I would start another new attempt

No. I used them because I thought they were comical. I do really like Fay, though.
