No, it's not the worst name. I just personally don't really like the sound, and I don't really like the look of it.
That said, if I were ever to 'adopt'/sponsor a turtle in one of those wildlife charity things and I got to name it, Myrtle would 100% be top of my list. Even if it were a boy.
