Made up names can be quite meaningful. My name here, "misabi," is a made up name that comes from my real name.
AND I know lots of people with a GREAT story behind their name, because their parents were thoughtful and creative in their made up name. So on the whole I think it can be a positive because it shows serious consideration and thoughtfulness.
