Favorite Anime Names
What are some of your favorite names that have either been conceived by an anime or have generally become associated with anime? If so, what anime characters are they associated with? Guilty pleasure names are welcome!Personally, I think the names in my list have a lot of familiarity with me, as I have a bunch of friends that love anime. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say!"They laugh at me because I'm different; I laugh at them because they're all the same." -Kurt CobainMario, #1 Husbando of Susie, Future Fatheru of Kirby and Tito. Catch me on r/waifuism if you can!!

I don't know anything about anime, so I looked at this list:
https://thoughtcatalog.com/january-nelson/2018/06/anime-names/Amaterasu is striking, but probably has a lot of cultural significance that escapes me, so it's just a GP.Chiyo is cute and apparently is popular in Japan.I also like the look/meaning of Fumiko.

Edward Elric “Full Metal Alchemist” – This character altered my perception of Edward, so he’s top on the list. I used to find Edward a bit stodgy, but now I consider it flexible and more spirited.
Winry Rockbell “Full Metal Alchemist” – Winry is whimsical and sounds like someone from a Diana Wynne Jones novel.
Tōshirō Hitsugaya “Bleach”
Trafalgar D. Law “Once Piece” – Cool and fits well within the piratical story world. He has one of the best names in the anime/manga.
Haku “Spirited Away” – Love this name!
Xellos “Slayers”
Lina Inverse “Slayers” – An iconic female character that breaks the anime girl mold.
Rimuru Tempest “Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken” – I also like his original name Satoru.
Erza Scarlet “Fairy Tail” – As a standalone name, I’m not big on Erza, but the sharp corners of the sounds combined with the confidence of Scarlet suits the character.
Natsu “Fairy Tail”
Natsumi - Crops up in several animes.
Ciel Phantomhive “Kuroshitsuji” – I haven’t watched the anime, which isn’t that good, but the manga has nice art and an atmospheric pseudo-Victorian vibe. I definitely prefer Ciel for a boy.
Agni “Kuroshitsuji” – I just like the name Agni
Hotaru – This name appears in several mangas , “Alice Academy,” and seems to be fairly well used in Japan.
Hikaru – This name is used a lot, including for the protagonist in “The Tale of Genji.” It is one of my favorite Japanese names.

I agree with a lot of your names!Edward Elric also made me like the name Edward better and Winry is such an ingenious creation, I love it~I did not expect to like the combination 'Rimuru Tempest' or for it to work well together but it just does and it's so cuteErza is another invention like Winry that I think blends in perfectly with other 'conventional' English namesI love the pronunciation of Karin in Japanese but hate it in English xDI forgot to add Yona to my list! I like that the pronunciation is pretty uniform amongst multiple languages
